The Idaho State Historical Society reports that during this week in history:

In a February 9, 1909 address to members of the Commercial Club and legislators, Governor James H. Brady admitted that he "may make mistakes, but they are mistakes of the head and not the heart."

The Beatles made their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964.

The Historical Society of Idaho Pioneers was incorporated by members of the Territorial Legislature and Boise pioneers on February 10, 1881, and in 1907 this organization evolved into the Idaho State Historical Society. Under the leadership of John Hailey—one of Idaho's most distinguished pioneers—the society commenced to assemble information and to collect objects relating to the history of Idaho.

The Sacred Heart Mission moved to Desmet on February 11, 1877 from its original location at Cataldo. The Old Mission at Cataldo was built between 1848 and 1853 as a combined effort of the missionaries and over 300 native Catholics. The building is still the oldest standing building in Idaho and remains as a monument to the cooperation of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe and their missionaries.

First Lieutenant James Stewart signs in for duty at Gowen Field in Boise on February 13, 1943. He continued his career as actor Jimmy Stewart when the war ended.

A boundary survey accepted on February 15, 1872, lead to the incorporation of Bear Lake and Cache Valley settlements into Idaho Territory, rather than Utah where they originally thought they were located.
