The digital collections of the Idaho State Historical Society (ISHS) include material from agency holdings, such as artifacts, maps, photographs, moving images, oral histories, state documents, public archives, and digital resources. These materials are available electronically for broad public access for non-commercial educational purposes such as research, teaching, private study and to promote scholarship. U.S. copyright and intellectual property laws apply to the digital resources made available through this site. Copies of these materials are provided under the authority of Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act which provides for fair use.

It is the user’s obligation to determine and satisfy copyright or other use restrictions when reproducing materials found in the ISHS Digital Collections. Requests for reproductions should be made to the department responsible for the collection (see below). The availability of reproductions is subject to the material’s size, condition, and copyright restrictions.

Copyright owners, persons with information about the material presented, or individuals interested in reproductions or acquiring more information about the materials presented are encouraged to contact one of the specific areas below for each collection or resource.
